Tuesday morning,
In the dark,
We were finding out who we are.
Here I am. On my bed writing this post in the middle of the night in darkness. Sigh, it took me this long to write this post. I don’t really know why but I just seem unable to sit myself down nowadays. Even circumstances are preventing me from writing this post. I have been having problems with the internet connection and all. Really really such a hassle. The last post I said that I would wanna blog bout all the recent events with pictures and all, but sadly, my comp crashed and I basically lost EVERYTHING. Every picture along with the memories, every single song that made me sing to it, my recordings, documents or writings, yup, pretty much everything. All that’s left is what’s in this head of mine. Haih. So yeah, I don’t have any nice pictures to show you and stuff, just these words that I’m typing now. Bear with me, it’s gonna be a long post filled with thoughts, ramblings, reminiscing, updates and all.
Updates, first.
I’m working. YES, you heard that correctly, I’m working. If you’re wondering where, I’m working at a Kumon centre in Taman Megah. If you don’t know what is Kumon, it’s basically a self-learning centre where students can learn maths or English. Google it if your still confused. What do I do there? I teach English to 7 year olds all the way to those early secondary school students. I mark papers, test their spelling and vocabulary, and also help them with their reading and grammar too. Do I enjoy it? I do. I really do look forward to work everytime. Most likely because I’m working around little kids. I like working with kids. If you didn’t know, I’m planning to be a pediatrician somewhere in the near future if God-willing. Yes, I’m going to do medicine at Monash, but that is a whole other story. I guess it took some time for those kids to get warmed up to a new teacher. Most of them were kinda scared actually. Not surprised since some of them are only as tall as my waist. But I guess I’m more kid-friendly now. You never know what’s going on in their little heads. Really. They always seem to come up with something you’d never expect. Naivety and innocence makes them all the more cuter. I’m glad I got this job.
Just yesterday I was working part-time for a day for D’Jungle People. If you’re wondering what they do, they organize events or to be more specific treasure hunts or races for other companies and organizations. It was reaaaally fun. Lucky I had Gan with me too. They really make working so fun although it was tiring. Got to meet some new people too. And yeah, it also made me realize how much of a banana I am. If the Chinese educated people can try to speak English to me, why can’t I try speaking Chinese? Okay, maybe that’s a bad idea coz most likely I’ll be pronouncing some bad words most of the time. But seriously, I’m gonna try a little harder to brush up on my Chinese. I can understand most of the things you say, but I’m having a little problem answering back. So, if you know Chinese/Cantonese/Hokkien and are in for some laughs, just talk to me. I think it’ll do me some good too.
What’s next? I’ll be off to CF Camp from tomorrow till Monday. Yup, partly the reason why I’ve been busy lately. Preparing some stuff for the camp. If you’re wondering, this years theme is , “Prison Break”. Breaking free from bondages and things that will hold us back. I’m excited for it. It’ll be my first CF camp. I’m gonna expect more from You outta this camp. So come, and encounter us.
So you sailed away,
Into the gray sky morning.
I can go on and on about farewells this season. I guess this is the time people part.
Nikki Lee Hsian Yee,
Geez, I’ve know you since you were this cute and chubby girl and I had glasses the size of donuts. Wipe those tears off your eyes. It’s a new beginning. I guess it’s just like what Li Ann said; it just may take a little time to settle in. We’re already missing you here. Things just seem a little quieter without you around. There are lesser and lesser of those outbursts of laughter and silly dance moves. I guess we won’t be bowling so often now. And we’ll be doing less silly and crazy things now. Just being at the airport that day, seeing ALL your friends send you off just made me realize how many people that you really made an impact on. You like had 20 people plus sending u off! Last I counted; I didn’t need to use my toes to count how many people send my other friends off. So don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll have just as much friends over there in Canada. Study hard while you’re there. Not to mention, have fun too. I’ll guess I will be missing the times where I can just talk to you. You always lend a good ear to listen. Thanks for being there. Just keep on that smile and do your dance! (:
Tee Su Yi,
Hope that quiz turned out well that day. Just surrender it into God’s hands. He’s already gotten you that far, I’m sure He won’t leave you now. You’re brilliant, smart and just as hardworking as anyone at Hong Kong Uni. So do us proud. Show that Malaysians can count! Just like you have in that HELP advert in the papers lately. Written there, “Some of the top universities that our students will be going; Hong Kong University.” I was thinking, “Hey! That’s Su Yi’s uni! Yay!” So yeah, Don’t give up just yet. It’s a pity we only had one and half years to get to know each other. Thanks for all you’ve done and helped out esp in leading cell in college with me. Make sure I don’t see you on some TVB drama okay? Haha. Keep counting and smiling.
1+2 is..? (:
Clauddyiaa,
How are you? Hope your reading this and doing fine. Sorry, I’m not very good at keeping in touch with everyone overseas. Hope things are working out fine with you and your enjoying life over there in Canada. Keep at it, and I’m sure you’ll do well. You’re always hardworking than most of us so don’t let people put you down. You’re always quirky and ready to try new things. Hope that stays the same over there in Canada. I’m sure you’ll find some good friends there that will appreciate you as well. Thanks for being a classmate in a class I wouldn’t trade for any other. I wish you all the best in your future undertakings. And btw, keep those ballerina shoes tapping on the dance floor (:
Geez I hate writing these. Worst thing is, there are still people leaving. The next ones that are leaving are the ones that I will miss a lot too. You know who you are.
Goodbye to you,
Goodbye to everything that I knew,
You were the one I loved,
The one thing that I tried to hold onto.
It’s late, I’m turning off the lights now.
Are you talking about me?
I will miss you too so don’t forget to go to the airport and send me off. I can promise you, you wouldn’t need your toes to count the number of people sending me off, hehehe.
I know Chinese,Cantonese and Hokkien! so talk to me!
But i doubt i’d do you any good. lol.
