Making a difference…

Just a small shout out to all those who has donated to my cause or rather to the cause of the Children’s Home of Hope. I really really do appreciate every cent and every bit of encouragement I’ve recieved. God bless you for your generousity and your willing heart to bless others with what you have.

From me alone, I’ve managed to collect soo much more that I anticipated…

Who says one person can’t make a difference? With the help of others, we can.

Okay, I’m terribly sick now. Down with flu and fever. But I’m still looking forward for tmr. Nothings going to dampen my mood now.

God, I need your divine healing. Need to last through tmr and for this week.

As you all know, I will be going bald for charity next Tuesday.

If you don’t know what is it for,
I’ll tell you now.

Proceeds from donations that I will be collecting will be going to a home called the Children’s Home of Hope. This is a home under the National Cancer Society which actually provides a “home away from home” for cancer patients that are undergoing treatments in KLGH. These cancer patients are usually coming from other states to get their treatments at KLGH. As you all know, these treatments are not cheap and they usually span over a long time. So families and their children  actually have to live here for a moment. This would be costly for them due to the high rental and other things that they might have to foot out for apart from the expensive medical bills.

There’s a significance in shaving bald.
Not only to raise money for them , but also to identify with what chemotherapy cancer patients go through.

So if you feel compelled to give , if their struggle pulls your heart strings, then make a difference by donating to the cause.

Hey people, its been a long while since I’ve blogged. Blogging seems like a luxury nowadays.. With exams coming round, I spent my whole mid-term break studying from morning till night.. today’s the only day I really am letting lose and letting my hair down…its been a long and tiring week.. on normal days, I’d be busy catching up sleep, doing research or assignments or just having classes… Thats pretty much my life… going back and forth from uni to church and sometimes out (but quite rare nowadays)… But hey, like i said before, I ain’t complaining… I’m just enjoying whatever comes my way (: I live I talk I breath med everyday… sooner or later, lunch conversations get filled with bio stuff…. frightening actually… I’m being professionally socialized… haha! bet all of u out there will be too, to a certain extent… (:

I’m really sorry if I havent been able to catch up with you all nowdays..please accept my sincerest apologies for the unreplied emails or sometimes texts or IMs.. well I’m writing this post to talk to you out there (:

Dei, how’s med life been treating you… your going to be a one year senior already! so awesome… No more saying ” I’m a first year” but a ” Second year med student!” only FOUR MORE YEARS LEFT ANWYAYS… haha! So far i hope everythings been running well with you..I know you and I know that whatever comes your way, you’ll tackle it left right and centre coz you don’t give up… I see you’ve surrounded yourself with lotsa good and nice friends… Nice to see that… Done anything interesting with the cadaver lately ? When are we going OUT! all talk only, I call u , you both busy…You call me , I pulak busy… my holidays ended liao… intended to go visit you all during easter but like I somehow had class on that Friday… sigh!! Hey how are you? I really have no clue or no idea what on earth has been going on with you… partly my fault too… are you going to US soon ? Are you working? Have you gotten you visa yet? I’m so sorry I haven’t been replying your previous email…. I hope our mailing thing didnt die yet..lol…yeah like i said, i dun even have time to blog so like even writing an email also a bit susah la… really sorry about it ! I see you’ve been having lotsa fun doing cool stuff! Oregon really looks like a fairytale place la… the picture you took in the forest really looks like Edward Cullen is going to jump out of it and catch u… hahah! Speaking about Twilight, I finished the series before uni started…lol… i really wanted to strangle Bella in the earlier part of book 4…lol… How you keeping up with your studies? Any different from here? Have you been cooking or baking anything interesting lately ? I havent!First my stove got problem thenwhen i got a new one,  now my oven is spoiled!! …And i really can’t find time to cook or bake, which I SO WANNA DO! Itching to bake something.. Met an accident last two weeks. Claimed insurance but the stupid insurance company is stalling the process making the repairing process so slow. JUST FIX MY CAR AND GET IT BACK TO ME! Stupid insurance people…No offence but they’re the worst… Don’t get me started on the health insurance in the US…

I’m sick and tired of asking people for transport to everywhere… Like a beggar… nuts… I’d be more grateful now that I have a car.. Not having a car is like I’m partially disabled….can’t go anywhere easily without a car…

How to save a life…

In a snap of a finger, Week 2 has ended.
Week 1’s schedule wasn’t as heavy as Week 2. By the end of this week, I feel as if I’ve been in uni for a long time. A holiday would be nice..hahah! Probably I feel this way because I had classes last Sat and I’ve learned so much things in the span of two weeks.

So far, there is no doubt that I am enjoying uni a lot. Most of all I’m enjoying the course even more. I feel like I’m really fitting into it. Thank God. Stress? That’s what everyone asks. Stereotyping med students to always be under pressure, stressed and have no life. Well, there is stress everywhere for different courses so its not surprising that there is stress here too! Even the lecturers say ” Most students (even parents) come with the perception of being stress and in the end they find it so. But we don’t need to have that perception. Med school does not need to be stressful but enjoyable.” Thats what I think so too. Enjoyable. Who cares if it’s tiring and stressful if I enjoy it ? (:

There are lotsa lotsa new things I’ve learned. The course is integrated between disciplines. So you don’t really know what or why you’re learning some things in that week but by the end of the week, you finally get the big picture. Then you’ll get a lightbub on your head. It’s nice to fit the puzzles to get a big picture. I love tutorials, practicals and PCL’s. I never get bored during those. Lectures are yeah, like lectures, nothing new.

By week 2:
We’ve celebrated two birthdays.
I know the basics for first aid. CPR included.
I know how to conduct a medical interview up to the gathering information part.
I know what’s Gastroenteritis and everything there is to know about it.
I sort of know a bit about the importance of sociology.
I know that hygiene is soooooooo important in prevention of diseases.
I’ve gotten to know other people better than before.
I know my social handwash and also surgical handwash.
I know how to wear my surgical cap, gown and gloves while maintaining aseptic techniques.
I realised that I don’t see other people in the uni that often.
I dun really like eating at the cafeteria.
I realised the Monash library really rocks socks!
I realised the importance of the CALs.
Self-studying is really important. No one’s going to tell you what to do.
I also realised that study groups can be really fun although I have never been a fan of it.

Well thats about the update for now.
